‘Painting the world around us’
As a child, Theresa Forman had a passion for art and the process of creating something beautiful. However, it was not until later in life that she was able to pursue fine art and painting. Theresa most enjoys painting inspiration from life where she can observe both the colors and subtle nuances in the landscape or in a still life. Working primarily in oils, she uses the plein air studies and photographic references to produce studio pieces that reveal the harmony found in nature. “I am overwhelmed with gratitude as I observe the majesty of God’s creation,” says Theresa. She hopes to communicate this sense of wonder and awe to her viewer. Her paintings speak softly echoing feelings of peacefulness and elegance.
Theresa graduated from the University of Georgia’s Lamar Dodd School of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She has also studied with various southeastern artists such as Debra Nadelhoffer and Jim Richards. Theresa is a member of the Oil Painters of America and the American Impressionist Society. She also enjoys being active in the Chastain Arts Center community in Atlanta.
